Solar Sandbox
Solar Sandbox is a hands-on space toy from solo developer totoriel. You drop suns, planets, and asteroids into an empty sky, hit Play, and watch gravity stitch them into orbits or smash them into glowing debris. It feels like drawing with physics: simple to start, deep if you keep tinkering.
What you can do
- Spawn bodies and set mass, speed, and direction
- Pause time, fast-forward, or step frame by frame
- Nudge paths to fix unstable orbits
- Try small scenes or build a whole mini system from scratch
- Save experiments and reload them later
Why it’s fun
Every tweak changes the story your system tells. A tiny push can turn a safe orbit into a slingshot escape. Two suns can dance or tear everything apart. The controls are clean, so you spend more time experimenting and less time fighting menus.
Platforms
Runs in a browser on desktop, with downloadable builds available for computers and some mobile devices.
Open a blank sky, plant a star, add two planets, and see which one survives the century.
